Endless Poptails: Caipirinha Popsicle

We’ve been keeping things simple, easy and familiar here with our Poptail series. But this week we are inviting a less familiar boozy guest, cachaca.

Start digging in the couch cushions and under the car seat like we did for spare change. You need this pure sugar cane rum in your life. More to the point, this is a must-try sweet and tart Poptail made easy with a limeade body,  raspberry sweetness and a sour punch of kumquats.

Now for a little housekeeping.  We’ve decided that since we still have a few orders to fill, we’re extending the Poptail series past what some people tell us is the end of summer. But not forever! Holla your order now or wait until next year for your Poptailing dreams to come true.

Endless Poptails: Bloody Mary Popsicles

Thanks to last week’s commenter, Angela, whose request for a Bloody Mary reminded us that being in cruise control sucks. With that, we decided that, hell yeah—let’s interrupt the summer sweet series with a savory Bloody Mary Poptail.

To start things off, we used heirloom tomatoes, because well, that’s what is in our backyard right now.If you don’t have any in season where you are, regular tomatoes will work just as well. Or for complete ease of mixing, skip the fresh tomatoes for some tomato juice and adjust the flavor accordingly. Whatever you use for the body, don’t forget the chili powder.

We guarantee you that this chili powder infused Bloody Mary on a stick will be a summer addiction to remember.

Order Up!

Summer is nearing its end, so with that we are filling your orders until the Poptail Series goes into hibernation.

Gimlet on a stick now being served. You asked for it and we’re delivering it in all its icy cold glory. That’s a mixed berry gimlet built on a limeade body. Now that we’ve armed you with the not so secret formula, spread the goodness and get mixing.

While you are getting boozy, we want to know what you want to see get cocktailed into a series next e.g. cupcakes, truffles, brownies. We are open for suggestions. Holla in the comments, we’ll throw your suggestions in the mix along with our staff picks.

Endless Poptails: White Sangria Poptail

While many of us are basting in our own sweat, retailers are already pushing us into fall. Uh, no. We refuse to go there. Fall means holiday time and we just aren’t ready for the madness that ensues.

Let’s stay focused here: Summer. Vacations. Poptails. That’s where it’s at.

Join us with our bit of summer persuasion with these white sangria poptails. We kept things light by going white instead of red and used a Pinot Grigio for the main body.  Toss in a few nectarines and grapes with some Triple sec and summer playtime is where it should be.

Endless Poptails: Mango Maui Mai Tai

Mai Tai Poptail Popsicle_Endless Simmer

Now that we’ve been blending and freezing poptails for a few weeks we decided it was time to open up the….er bar, and put your requests to work.

First up is the Mai Tai.  Poor Trader Vic, here is yet another iteration on his classic creation. We figured everyone has been getting bastardly with his drink, that well, we need one to claim as our own.

We started with a Maui Mai Tai, from there we stayed true to keeping our poptails budget friendly by skipping the orgeat and kicking up the sweet and sour combination by going au natural with some fresh fruit. What we didn’t skip: the rum, more accurately, the three rums.

Mix. Lick. Enjoy.

Endless Poptails: Lychee Sakitini

We might be breaking some sake sipping code here by freezing it. But, you’ve come with us this far into the series, why not continue down the rabbit hole where fantasies of Poptails freeze to reality.

This week we are getting cool and cozy with sake, some Lychees, a little bit of honeydew (to give the poptails more body for the sake to soak into) and a few raspberries for a garnishing finish. Wait a few hours and the pay off is there on stick. Enjoy!

Fig and Clementine Port Wine Poptail

Fruit and wine—in a popsicle? Yep—it’s a ménage a trios for the hedonistic foodie.

Hitting the blender’s vortex this week is some dry port wine, figs, clementine tangerines and honey. We’ve have to admit, it seemed almost sacrilege to be pouring wine onto the blades of our poptail regulator. But a nano second later “almost” turned into a 2-cup pour.

We’re on a campaign to leave no alcohol behind, so stay tuned to find out what’s next on the poptail hit list. And remember, you can find all of our boozy ice pop concoctions in Endless Poptails.
