Beer Float Popsicle

Look around the blogosphere and you’ll see it seems like everyone is kicking off fall with pumpkin recipes. But we’re thinking football season here at ES. With that, we turned a beer float into a poptail.

We used a chocolate stout and vanilla ice cream, but your palate, your preference —so mix and match to suit your taste.

Beer Float Popsicle

1 pt Youngs Chocolate Stout

1 ½ cups of vanilla ice cream

1.Fill popsicle mold quarter of the way up with beer. Place 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream into form, pour beer on top. Using butter knife gently stir ice cream into beer. Keep in mind the carbonation from the beer will push some of the ice cream to the top.

2. Freeze for about 2 hours or until mixture starts to solidify enough to hold a popsicle stick upright. Insert popsicle sticks and finish freezing popsicles overnight. To release popsicles run hot water on the outside of popsicle molds for a 2-3 seconds

Yep — that’s it! We kept it simple this week since the ES crew is going on a road trip to Philly starting tomorrow. We’re going on a gluttonous 3-day eating and drinking tour as we make our way through Philadelphia. You can follow our trip on Twitter with the hashtag #ESinPhilly. Or if you have a must-try suggestion for food or restaurants, tweet us with that hashtag.

As always, find all our our cocktail popsicle recipes in Endless Poptails.
