Four Roses Bourbon Opening Day Cocktail

Cocktail O’ Clock: Knock it Outta the Park with the RBI Cocktail

Four Roses Bourbon Opening Day Cocktail
Happy Opening Day! Today we’re celebrating the start of baseball season with lots of bourbon. Wait, bourbon? Yes, bourbon. Think beyond the Kentucky Derby, because this versatile liquor is great for spring and summer sipping during any sporting event, including baseball.

Today we used the classic Four Roses bourbon to create the RBI… no, not Run Batted In, the Raspberry Blackberry Infusion! We combined Four Roses with fresh berries to create a sweet, flavorful infused bourbon, then shook it with local honey and bitters and served it on the rocks for a refreshing libation perfect for drinking while watching your favorite team.

The Four Roses RBI Cocktail

2 shots Four Roses bourbon
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 cup fresh blackberries
1 teaspoon local honey
1-2 dashes Angostura bitters

Infused bourbon:
Combine bourbon and berries in a mason jar or other tightly sealed bottle and let sit for at least a few hours, or up to a week if you are really feeling the infusion vibes.

Cocktail:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass (or mason jar!) over an ice ball or large cocktail ice cubes and garnish with a couple of fresh berries. Enjoy!

NOTE: If you are wanting this cocktail NOW and don’t want to wait for the infusion, no problem! Just make an insta-infusion, it’s just as tasty. You can skip right ahead to the cocktail recipe and shake the berries immediately with the bourbon, and prepare the drink as directed.
