Obama Eats Out Contest – No Winner Yet!

It took two and a half months, but Michelle and Barack Obama finally fit in another DC date night. And the winning restaurant was…

Citronelle! The ‘bams played it safe, hitting up one of the District’s most acclaimed eateries. The White House Saturday night pool reporters detailed their full evening, via HuffPo:

At 5:53 the president and first lady emerged from the White House. She was wearing a white short-sleeved top that tied in the back, black capri pants and flats…

We rolled at 5:54 with unknown location ahead. There was the usual picture taking from the corners during the short motorcade to Georgetown…

Our pool van stopped at 6:01 over the canal and we could not see the first couple as they arrived at the restaurant, one of the city’s top rated…

After looking a the photos a fashion correction from the last report – FLOTUS’ white blouse was long sleeved but pushed up her arm and she actually was wearing heels…

Her hair was in a ponytail and she was holding a blue clutch.

Yes, yes, but what did they order? Come on, White House pool reporters! Get to the good stuff! And more importantly, I’m very disappointed in all you ESers, because not one of you guessed Citronelle! Our own gansie came the closest, guessing: “central. will show economic restraint in going to the less expensive Michael Richard restaurant.” Close, but no phyllo-wrapped cigar, gansie.

So no winner, which means the guesses stand and the game is still open. To refresh, you can win our contest (and fabulous prizes) by correctly guessing which DC restaurant the President will dine at next. Cast (or update) your guess in the comments below. Here are the guesses we have so far:

Georgia Brown maybe (it’s close to the white house and supposedly has the best shi-shi soul food in town)

  • espressodog May 4, 2009

E! was on it – POTUS had the 72 hour short ribs, FLOTUS had the lobster burger. Both had Stoli martinis.

I’ve actually never made it to G-browns – it sucks?

  • espressodog May 5, 2009

Well I don’t know where the next date night is going to be but POTUS crossed the river for a burger with the VEEP today. At Ray’s Hell Burger. I love that he is going out in the area a lot more than Bush. But, I think he needs to break away from the burgers. Maybe a little pho next time.

And yet still no winner? Figured somebody must have guessed Komi. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/07/obama-komi-date-night-pre_n_568634.html.

Can’t fault them for that choice.
