Omg, Top Chef is sooo not that important to live blog. Who do I think I am – Talking Points Memo blogging the Dem civil war primaries.
Andrew is a trip!
We will NOT be live blogging Jessie Spanos’ Step it up and Dance.

I like this challenge, especially because of the lack of overt commercialism. TC is getting back to the basics. Hopefully this can be a theme for the season. Oh, and I can’t lie – I don’t know how to make 3/4 of these “classics.” Shit.
Nikki making fresh pasta: I’m impressed.
80 says – the Kiwi will go far. And no way they’ll get rid of Andrew.
Tony B is BACK! MMMM.
Rocco can go away at any time now.
Richard’s Atlanta themed pie — peaches and sweet tea reduction — could be the most interesting, if it tasted good.
Padma: VERY DEEP DISH re: Nikki. Not good.
Andrew has a potty mouth. I like him.
Again, not to scoop you BS, but just wanted to get some thoughts on, well, not on paper, on the keyboard, I guess the saying would be. Enjoy some ES live blogging!
The below comments are based on looks and their 60 second intros and some of the Quick Fire challenge.
Nikki might be hott. Might be annoying. Might not be able to cook for shit (re: deep dish pizza.)
Spike could be hott. Might be a bigot (on first comments on the dykes – see below)
Ryan – digging the cocky ‘tude. Hey, Mariah Carey — is this dude your roommate “dated.” I want more gossip! (See these comments.)
The dyke couple could be awesome. Although I hope they’re not lame like the identical twins on America’s Next Top Model. Side note, why do so many chef’s have faux hawks.
Mark’s Kiwi accent could get him far.
Sorry to hit you with the back-to-back Bravo action, but Top Chef 4 starts in Chi-town this evening, and, hey we’re excited. As always, you can count on ES for all your TC gossip, ramblings, and of course, our world wide web famous Padma Lakshmi photo gallery.
– Bravo has a completely unnecessary and completely amazing “Which Top Chef judge are You?” quiz. I won’t tell you which one I matched up with, but let’s just say “though always graceful and poised, I can be playful when the time is right, and I bring a zest for life to everything I do.”
– There’s only one interesting question in this Grub Street interview with Padma Lakshmi, and it’s the last one.
– Time Out NY has the lowdown on Top Chef 3 winner Hung and his latest restaurant stint in NY (they also explain why he’s wearing a yarmulke).

Two things.
We all know that I love my WaPo food chats. And, I’m super pumped for this season of Top Chef which starts tonight! (Sorry for scooping you, BS.)
So while ES works hard to provide you with cutting-edge Top Chef news, gossip and sarcasm, you can “chat” with Season 3 winner Hung Huynh and judge Gail Simmons today at noon.
Maybe that was just one thing.
