The O.G. Food Blogger

Posted on April 22nd, 2008 in Fruit, TV by BS

A lot of people have made the point that 60 Minutes commenter Andy Rooney is the original blogger. Why? He rambles on about whatever is on his mind, with seemingly no input from a boss or editor, yet for some reason he is still given a platform to speak from. Andy’s deep insights into the world of fruit shopping are just too good to miss.

Hah. “He rambles on about whatever is on his mind, with seemingly no input from a boss or editor, yet for some reason he is still given a platform to speak from.” Thanks for expressing that so well. That’s EXACTLY why he’s the original blogger.

he’s right on about the melons though… cantelope and honey dew are so hit or miss. and the smell or shake tests (respectively) are no guarantee you’re really gonna get yourself a delicious one.

Well, I thought the melon test was to rap on it to hear whether there was a satisfying thump or not. I can see why Andy Rooney had trouble with with them. Is the thump coming from the melon or his hollow, bloodless fist?? He’s so old!
