Good Excuse for a Happy Hour
After debuting the fabulous pickletini here on Endless Simmer, I thought I’d introduce you all to my other favorite mixed drink—Blueberi Stoli and Soda. I had my first Blueberi Stoli and Soda at the Wonderland Ballroom here in my favorite neighborhood in DC, Columbia Heights. And who suggested this drink to me? Why, the lovely Vi who recently posted It Tastes Like a Rainbow, Part II.
More after the jump…
The ingredients for this drink are pretty obvious, but I’ll list them for you anyway: ice, Blueberi Stoli and soda water. Some of you might be thinking to yourself, “booooring,” or “yuk, i hate blueberry flavoring,” but I promise you that this is a super refreshing, non-sweet, yet slightly flavored summery drink. If you are like me, and rarely order mixed drinks because it means either drinking too much sugar and caffeine or drinking yourself under the table with something stronger like martinis, then you’ll probably appreciate this drink.
Of course, if you are into the sweet drinks, here are some other types of Blueberi Stoli mixes that might be of interest—I think the Lemonito sounds pretty good.
Anyway, this post is really a call to action. Make this your excuse for a mid-week happy hour (if you need one) and go out and try a Blueberi Stoli and Soda. Onward!

I have to admit I was surprised to like this. They really do a good job of giving it just enough refreshing flavor to cut the vodka without making it sickly sweet at all

Another simple and refreshing alternative akin to the Lemonito recipe mentioned above is just stoli blue mixed with organic lemonade, served over ice with a garnish of fresh blueberries

[…] As you may have noticed, we’re not big on desserts here at ES. It’s not that we don’t have a sweet tooth (oh we do), it’s just that we don’t have any idea how the eff to make them. The closest most of us come to cooking a dessert is mixing blueberry vodka. […]
