Cocktail O’Clock: Mango Ginger Margarita

We were on our third day of sightseeing benders in the world of rodent amusement parks when we ventured to “Tomorrow Land”—you know the one, with the gigantic golf-ball housing the “ride of tomorrow” that ends in some California garage? Unfortunately, the early 80’s tech-savvy scene failed to amuse our five-year-old tech genius. Nothing offered here could compete with our PS3 at home, so he decided to take his boredom out on the rest of us. Purely in the interest of self-preservation, I stumbled upon a stand selling mango-ginger-margaritas in China-land. My wife and I enjoyed 3 of these magical libations. (Yes. That’s 3 each.) I recreated these serenity slushies at home with positive results.

Mango Ginger Margarita

Serves 2

In a blender, combine:

2 cups of ice
½ cup mango juice
¼ cup of lime juice
2 shots vodka
2 shots rum
6 oz of frozen mango pieces
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tbsp crystalized ginger chips (adds nice chewy bits)

Tuneage: The Ting Ting’s Sounds from Nowheresville—perfect pairing to drown out the incessant brattiness.

That’s the kind of cocktail I LOVE to drink during Summer! Thanks for sharing! I have in mind to give it a twist and incorporate Organic maple syrup in it (I made some cocktail drinks lately with maple syrup and it gives a sweet and very delicate taste to the drink). The best I have tasted to date is from Rouge Maple: it really worth the try!
