EPIC Thanksgiving Dessert: Pecan Pie Brownies with Sweet Potato Casserole Topping

I’m sure you all saw the EPIC Thanksgiving meat monstrosity from last week.  Well to top that off, I made this dessert.  I wanted to share it with you guys just in time for Thanksgiving.

I’m just going to warn you.  It is super easy to make and waaaay too delicious.  So, if you are not into those things, you might want to skip this recipe.

Oh, yeah.  There’s also some candied bacon on it, too.

Pecan Pie Brownies with Sweet Potato Casserole Topping

makes one 9×9 pan

Ghirardelli double chocolate brownie mix
1/2 of a prepared pecan pie, chopped
2 sweet potatoes, cooked and peeled
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 bag of mini marshmallows
candied bacon, chopped

Prepare your brownie mix.  Fold in your pecan pie chunks.  Bake the brownies as instructed on the box.

In a bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, brown sugar, egg, butter, milk, vanilla and salt.  Mash it together.  Spread it on top and bake for 25 minutes.  Top with marshmallows and candied bacon and broil until topping is browned.

See the candied bacon nestled in the browned marshmallows?  Sigh. Beside the dessert (above) is a lumpy homemade whipped cream with cinnamon.
