Edible Pantries

Endless Simmer’s Kitchen Musts:

  • Avocado
  • Eggs
  • Bulgur Wheat (thanks JoeHoya!)
  • Maggi Seasoning Sauce
  • Bacon
  • Blanton’s Bourbon
  • Feta cheese
  • Farmer’s Market garlic
  • Red Peppers
  • Chipotles in Adobe
  • Scallions

Endless Simmer fall tips - what we’re stuffing our pantries with before Summer ends:

  • Get that last crop of  good tomatoes and blend up some of Edouble’s signature salsa. Stick that in the freezer and you’ll have instant spicy goodness all winter long.
  • Got extra herbs in your garden? Put together some of Gansie’s Mostly Rosemary Olive Oil and you’ll have flavorful goodness to last all Winter for treats like these.
  • You certainly won’t find any nice, fresh basil in the winter, so also freeze up some pesto - don’t add the cheese yet!
  • While you’re making that pesto, might as well buy some pine nuts in bulk, since those babies are so g-d-damn expensive. They also go rancid in a matter of days, but you can keep them fresh in the freezer, pop ‘em out and toast them to add to pastas, salads, soups, casseroles and cereal. Or if you’re less obsessed than us, just pasta.

What’s in your edible pantry?

This is ridiculous. I’m both speechless and hungry. Great *&%$#@! work!

May I suggest a link that says “What goes well with _____”

That way when I type in the word “wings” the words “Eagles,” and “Yuengling” come up.

Does it make me just a little bit more of a foodie than you if I know that it’s spelled “bulgur” wheat?

And does it make me an ass that I bothered to post that?

And, now that you hate me, can I also say that this is a great new blog that I’m looking forward to visiting frequently!

Risotto (a rice not a pasta)
    Eggplant
Jane’s Krazy Mixed-up Salt (and other seasonings)
    Eggs…I can’t live without eggs
