Endless Super Bowl: Top 10 Recipes for Your Football Party
Yeah yeah YEAH SONS!!!!! This Sunday is the Super Bowl and the Seahawks are BACK, BABY! Loyal ES readers may remember that I am from Seattle and loooove me some Hawks and made this ultra-handy Super Bowl Snacks for Seahawks Fans last year, and that post still stands because OBVIOUSLY THE SEAHAWKS ARE BACK IN THE ‘BOWL.
(If you want me to stop typing in all caps, SORRY NOT SORRY I CAN’T STOP WON’T STOP because I LOVE THE SUPER BOWLLL)
This year, though, to add to my Seahawks-centric list, I thought I’d share a Top 10 list of general football recipes guaranteed to please any Super Bowl partiers. There is NO shortage of Super Bowl recipes online but these are the tried-and-true snacks we’ve successfully made in the past, and/or new (to us) recipes I’m excited to try this weekend. Need even more inspiration? Take a gander at our Endless Super Bowl Pinterest board.
Big Popper Hot Buffalo Chicken and Bacon Grilled Cheese from Half Baked Harvest
What… even… ARE YOU? Once again, one of my personal favorite food blogs, HBH, comes through with an amazing recipe and gorgeously mouth-watering photos. I want, no, NEED this sandwich in my life.
Baked Garlic & Swiss Dip from Endless Simmer
I developed this recipe two years ago and it is GOOD. Your breath might smell, but so will everyone else’s, so you’ll be just fine.
Buffalo and Blue Cheese Lil’ Smokies from Inspired by Charm
Lil’ smokies are one of Rob’s favorite football snacks (and one of mine, and one of probably most of America, let’s be real…) so obv they’re a Super Bowl staple. The addition of creamy buffalo dipping sauce and blue cheese inside the “blanket” ?! A stroke of genius.
Spinach, Bacon, Swiss, & Caramelized Onion Dip from A Time to Kale
I’ve made a version of this recipe every football party for as long as I can remember. You’ve got cheese, you’ve got some greens, you’ve got salty bacon… it’s just a classic, unbeatable combination. The sweet depth of the caramelized onions really elevates this particular dip.
Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls from Tracey’s Culinary Adventures
I’ll admit it. I’m a total sucker for any trashy Americanized eggroll. Those avocado eggrolls at Cheesecake Factory? Bomb.com. Chilis’ Southwest Eggrolls? Alongside a plate of boneless wings, my favorite guilty pleasure whenever I’m at the airport. (Yes, that’s a specific guilty pleasure, I’m aware.) So, eggrolls stuffed with shredded buffalo chicken and blue cheese? UM YES.
Bacon Jalapeño Cheese Dip from Crumb
Spicy, cheesy, bacon-y. Plus lil’ pretzel nuggies for dipping?! How could you possibly say no?
Hot Reuben Sandwich Dip from I Wash You Dry
How had I not thought of this possibility until this year?! LOVE a Reuben sandwich. I’m going to throw this into my Crockpot, make some rye toast tips, and wait for the magic to happen.
Pulled Pork Nachos from Katie’s Cucina
I love pulled pork in general, especially in a nacho situation, but this recipe in particular utilizes baked beans, red onion, and blue cheese as well. Come on. Come on.
Crab Rangoon Dip with Homemade Wonton Chips from Endless Simmer
Lest we forget, I created this ULTIMATE crab rangoon dip over the holidays and it was the life of the party. If you’re a person who loves crab dip during your football watching (like any self-respecting Seattleite/Seahawk lover should, after all Seattle is a seafood AND Asian food mecca!) you need this dip in your life.
Buffalo Chicken Totchos from Greens & Chocolate
Totcho = Tater Tot + Nacho. That is all you need to know.
Happy Super Bowl, friends, eat and drink until you can’t get off the couch… AND GO SEAHAWKS!
