Cookies Gone Wild! Top 10 Ways to Eat an Oreo

If you haven’t noticed, next to beer, I favor sweets.  I’d go so far as to say if it was an ideal world, I’d subscribe to Elf’s main food groups. Maybe not that far…but pretty close. Oreos are one of those foods that integrate sweet creaminess and crunchy chocolate to a different level. I’m sure there are Oreo purists out there who will only eat it one way—but for the adventurers among us, here are ten more ways to eat the number 1 sandwich cookie in America:

10. Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookie-on-cookie action! Some cookies you need to eat warm or wait until they get crispy. It seems like this one is enjoyable no matter when you chomp down on it. I’d still go for right out of the oven. Really—what’s better than the warm insides of a cookie?

9. Individual Oreo Cheesecake

Some people feel overwhelmed by a large piece of cheesecake. At least this gives you the perception that you are controlling your portions. Until you have another…and another..and…

8. Peanut Butter Oreo Truffles

Oreos, cream cheese, peanut butter, chocolate. Really—what else could make it any better? These addicting creamy balls will last maybe five minutes at a party. And that’s no exaggeration. Haha – creamy balls.

7. Oreo Fudge Ice Cream Cake

Ice cream sandwiches, Oreos, chocolate pudding, Cool Whip, fudge. I think the fact that ice cream sandwiches were used is pretty interesting. And allows for the opportunity to make your own homemade ice cream sandwiches to stuff between pudding, Oreos, Cool Whip, and fudge. I have a personal vendetta against Cool Whip, so homemade whipped cream (with crushed Oreos?) would be called for in my version.

5. Slutty Brownies

Now you didn’t think these wouldn’t be on the list, did you? The thing that makes this trio of chocolatey goodness is peanut butter. Enough said.

4. Peanut Butter Oreo Lattice Pies

I’m thinking about five minutes after they come out of the oven, these are gone. The flaky, crispy crust and then soft, gooey, and peanut-buttery filling. Just perfect.  Looks like the pie is missing some ice cream though…

3. Oreo & Peanut Butter Tart

Heart attack. I’d like to speak to the survivors after eating something like this. Although I have to admit, it would be pretty damn hard for me to stay away from it. Something about peanut butter and Oreos just makes me happy.

2. Oreo Ice Box Cake

Ice box cakes are a retro kind of thing that occasionally hit the spot on a summer day. Yada yada yada. Maybe if something of substance was occupying all of that fluffy whipped pudding, it wouldn’t be so rare that people wanted to eat it. Replace the traditional chocolate wafers with Oreos, and you’re there.

1. Deconstructed Cookies & Cream Ice Cream

There’s no cream to lick here (that’s what she said), but Chicago restaurant El Ideas took the idea of playing with your food to a whole new level. No dunking necessary.
