We’re getting to that point in the series where the chefs have known each other long enough to start hating each other (I’m looking at you Beverly and Heather).

C’mon, I’m waiting for the cat-fight.

One shocking development: desserts are coming out on top. Gone are the days of Tom turning up his nose at chocolate tart, he’s now embracing the sugar high.

Cracklin Hush Puppies by Whitney Otawaka

½ finely minced onion

2 cups cornmeal

1 cup AP flour

2 tablespoons sugar

¾ tablespoons baking powder

2 teaspoons salt

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

1.5 cups buttermilk

2 eggs

1 cup pork craklins or bacon

Mix dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients. Combine. Mix in onion and cracklins or bacon. Use 1 tablespoon of batter per hush puppy. Deep fry at 325 degrees in neutral cooking oil such as canola or peanut. Drain briefly on a paper towel. Garnish with honey.
