If I had discovered this blog entry as a child I would have done a full 1 to one substitution and eaten entire batches. I might try this at my next summer picnic!

Ah-MAZING. It's so good once cooled in the fridge, almost like Entenmann's brand crumb cakes.

I’ve done this with boxed white cake mix and country time lemonade mix, and more lemonade mix for a glaze that you pour on while the cake is still hot and poked with holes. Yah, thanks for the idea. Sorry for not giving you props.

@Ruby: You are correct, there are the two versions of Kool-Aid. i don't know if tang comes with sugar already incorporated into the drink mix, being that it does come in the aforementioned econo-sized tub. but since you said you had to mess with the sugar, i'm assuming that it does.
at any rate, you're welcome. ;)

i don’t know if we talked about this or not, or if it even crossed my mind. i know that kool-aid mix, in the little pocket, doesn’t contain any sugar. if i am not mistaken the variety that comes in the giant econo-sized tub already has the sugar in it? i could be wrong, BUT, the recipe works best if you use the mix that comes in the little pocket, because it won’t add any sugar. just makes everything taste like a sweet tart.

i don’t know if tang comes with sugar already incorporated into the drink mix, being that it does come in the aforementioned econo-sized tub. but since you said you had to mess with the sugar, i’m assuming that it does.

at any rate, you’re welcome. <img
