I understand it involves work to prepare a meal - that's why I'm paying you money. I try to be a generous tipper when it's appropriate, but I don't agree with this expansion of tipping - now you're supposed to tip on a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone - next thing we know, you'll have to tip the person ringing you up at the grocery store. Yeah, I get that people don't get paid enough, but food is expensive enough that places should pay their employees well, rather than customers expected to add on a dollar for every thing they buy. It's a tradition when sitting down to a meal to express gratitude to the person waiting on you for an hour, and asking someone to drive food to your house is an outrageous enough proposition that you should tip. I haven't been in a taxi sense the meter law passed! We ordered in Silver Spring, so it was a flat rate- oh my bad it's 5 bucks - kind of hefty, but those pupusas were GOOOOD!
