Alright, that headline ought to get us some google hits.

Editor’s Note: Before anyone accuses me of pulling a Huffington, I should confess that this is not a “real” blog post from El. Our sometimes contributor recently took a trip to Morocco, and while she has yet to write about it, she did finally do the Kodak Gallery thing, and her food pics were so amazing that I had to grab them and share.

ps – I am kinda hungover today and words cannot possibly explain how much I want that egg-in-a-hole sandwich.

To clarify: it was an egg-in-the-hole / grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Seriously one of the best post-drinking meals I’ve ever had!

El – tell us more about the “real tapas”
what the hell are any of those things?

As I told gansie in an email, unfortunately I don’t remember the details on the tapas. First off, it was St. Patricks Day. Nuff Said. Second, most of our order was based off of a kind table-neighbor who handed us a napkin with his suggestions. We didn’t even know half of what we ordered.

The plate that is almost empty was potatoes in a creamy sauce. This was served cold. The breads had melted cheese on there, and I think a ham product of some kind?

Sorry I am such a bad reporter. I should have taken better pics and notes! Guess I’ll just have to go back some time…

lol! i think i can help you with the Tapas, they’re basically like a tortilla ( the Spanish one ) Eggs and Potatoes, i personally prefer the eggs, onions and potatoes with parsley :)
but you can make it like you’re making an omelet with potatoes and you might wanna add a dash of cream sauce.
the other tapas i believe might be what we call “Zalouk”, kinda like baba ganoosh ( eggplants with tomato sauce and red peppers, very delicious! )
the way you make them is you actually steam the eggplant before you saute it with diced tomatoes and peppers and tomato sauce.
We also have one with sauteed zucchini like seriously off the hook
concerning the Moroccan coffee i think it resembles more a double shot espresso with a shot of milk ( for starbucks fans ) otherwise there’s Cosi ( @ least where i used to live in VA next to the courthouse metro station ) that actually serve Moroccan coffee :)
Concerning Moroccan cookies ( desert ) my favorite is my mom’s biscotti! great with mint tea, other than that she’s actually prepin’ the ramadan cookies ie. Briwat: nemes filled with roasted granulated almonds and Chebbakia (the web) which is deep fried in oil and honey and topped with sesame seeds :)
    Enjoy,
    Adnane,
