Very nice Gansie. There's a nice gooey factor to that one that really makes it work for me. I hate dried out scrambled eggs.
Of course, for our friends of southern persuasion, my favorite Mexican restaurant will do an egg biscuit any time of the day. Bojangles (bo-HAN-gles for the gringos) doesn't have many limits, especially on salt content.

I did hear a little rumour a while back that Dunkin Donuts intends to open up over 300 stores in the DC-Baltimore Metro region by 2010. This sounds like good news for those egg lovers!

No argument here. Eggs are tasty anytime. Quiche and salad is one of my favorite lunches...

dunkin donuts def serves bfast sandwiches all day and all night (many 2am runs in my youth.) i just dont work super near one, which is why i didn't mention it; the au bon pain is across the street from my work.

i had a kick ass pizza at 2 amys: fingerling potatoes, truffle oil, pecerino cheese (and an other cheese, kinda forget) and a sunny side up egg on top. fucking amazing!

DC has already managed to screw up Jersey-style diners - the Metro 29 Diner on Lee Highway and the Silver Diner chain (fake diners) are all the evidence you need.

Don't quote me on this, Gansie, but I'm pretty sure you can get Dunkin' Donuts' egg sandwiches all day long...at the very least, it would be worth investigating!

Went to Ulah Bistro on U Street for brunch on Sunday and they have something truly amazing - a breakfast pizza. It's a wood-fired crust topped with basil tomato sauce, a little cheese, prosciutto and three eggs any style. So good! And to tie that back into the theme of this post, my wife and I had some leftover slices for dinner last night, egg and all. Loved it.

I'm with you-- eggs are the perfect lunch (and dinner)! And they're so cheap; I don't see why places can't keep a few on hand for the occasional lunchtime request.

Eggs first thing in the morning always seemed odd to me. My roommate was making some as I was leaving for work this morning, and the smell kind of turned my stomach... it was just too early for all that.

I do miss Jersey diners, but I think they'd lose their charm if they were everywhere. DC would manage to screw them up somehow.
