(i don't eat it myself b/c smell is inextricably linked to taste for me, but i feel like i need to defend it as an alleged delicacy)

what? is there no stinky tofu in the entire metro area? What I love most about them is the fact that they'll show up with a full-size smoker rig if you hire them to cater an event. Their brisket is definitely tasty, but their whole hog presentation is not to be missed.
Thanks for the tip on Valentino's, Minch. They're right near Total Wine (Total Beverage?), and my wife and I have talked about checking them out on several occasions when stocking up, but we've never pulled the trigger. Sounds like we need to!

BS – Rockland’s is the best of a thin field when it comes to barbecue in the District…and I say that as a certified Kansas City Barbecue Society judge. The first time we bought it, my wife and I had to wrap it, put it in tupperware, and stick it in the back of the fridge to prevent it from overpowering (and permeating) everything in there.
But it is DELICIOUS!

Speaking from experience, the Red Hawk is just as strong when purchased on its own.
